On Saturday, it ended up raining most of the day. Desperate to get in a sketch, I drew this beneath the cover of some trees. There are a few spots where raindrops came down and blurred the ink. Today, still raining, I watercolored the image taking the liberty to make it appear like a sunny day.

A few things different than my usual in that I used a much larger 11 x 17 pad (tough to hold), and I sketched from the opposite side of the street including parked cars in the image. This is more like the typical street scene in the neighborhood.

Everyone was preparing for hurricane Sandy yesterday, including me. I sketched this before the wind got too bad yesterday afternoon, allowing a nice indoor watercoloring session today. Meanwhile the city is at a standstill. Sterling Place and 7th Avenue, Park Slope, Brooklyn.
