Living in Park Slope, I enjoy sketching the landmarks in the neighborhood.
By sketching, I hope to implant some of the wisdom of these landmarks into my mind. They have so much to say.
I sketch freehand, on location. I use a black pen on a 9 x 12 sketch pad. I don't use pencil. There is no tracing-over or retouching. I may exclude cars parked on the street and other items if they don't add to the architecture.
I hope visitors enjoy this site. It is much more satisfying to sketch when you can share them with others.
You have captured the colour, texture and "feel" of the stone very well! Nice picture.
ReplyDeleteThank you ovson. I was experimenting with a 'bleed' technique on this one. This particular pen bleeds when water is applied.
ReplyDeleteWonderful work, I like this bleeding technique and delicate color. Charming architecture.
