Somehow you manage to capture all of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. I've done a bit of sketching since I moved to the south slope in September 09. Keep it up! Your architectural renovation work is great also. My favorite places to sketch are the waterfront in Red Hook and hidden spots along the Gowanus . There are so many amazing old industrial spots that have the coolest lines and shadows. Cheers!
Thanks much Tyler! I appreciate the feedback. I'd like to do some along the waterfront in Red Hook. As you say, there's some great industrial spots for sketching. They have a beauty all their own.
Living in Park Slope, I enjoy sketching the landmarks in the neighborhood.
By sketching, I hope to implant some of the wisdom of these landmarks into my mind. They have so much to say.
I sketch freehand, on location. I use a black pen on a 9 x 12 sketch pad. I don't use pencil. There is no tracing-over or retouching. I may exclude cars parked on the street and other items if they don't add to the architecture.
I hope visitors enjoy this site. It is much more satisfying to sketch when you can share them with others.
